For me it is finding the time. I want to do more challenges, but I'm lucky if I get to scrap during the week.

Carla said...

For me it is time, as well.
There are so many challenges out there - - I pick a handful each week to do if I get a chance (just the ones that appeal to me most that week!) - - but unfortunately just don't have time for them all.

Veronica Z said...

I can't tell you why more people don't play along with challenges, but there would probably be more entries if the people that enter a ton of challenges at a time were able to enter their cards. I for one like your rule of only 4 combined challenges. I hope you don't change that! This is one of my fav challenge blogs! Keep up the great work!

Stephanie Zito said...

Time for me as well. With 2 little ones at home and another on the way, I find it hard to play every week but I play when I can. Keep up the great work Jenny!

Marie said...

For me it's both theme and time that may stop me from playing along. And I often forget to check what the new challenge is, so it's mostly my own fault =(

1CardCreator said...

For me it's time, and theme and also I sometimes forget to check what your challenge is.

Jamie said...

1.) Finding time to play along
2.) Sometimes the challenges are too specialized. For example, I think baker's twine looks delicious, but I don't own any so I wouldn't be able to participate in that challenge.

scrappin2babygirls said...

Well... for me.. sometimes its the challenge.. sometiems its one i am just not interested in doing. Sometimes is that I just dont have the time. And sometimes its the prize. But usually its that im not in the mood to make a card (im originally a scrapbooker) so thats usually where my interest is.. I am so behind on all my books I got married over 2.5 years ago and only have 1/8 of my wedding book done lol! So i like to do challenges that will help me to further my books. :)

I have tried to cut back on the number of challenges that I do, because it was getting too stressful trying to check them all off. If this challenge fits in with what I'm working on that week, I'll participate, but I don't always have time to make an extra card to fit the week's theme. As for comments, I try very hard to comment on blogs of those that come by and leave comments on mine. Other than that, it gets to be overwhelming to try to leave comments everywhere!

Jenny said...

Jamie - anyone can play not just cardmakers ... we have Wendy as our altered artist and she has done projects that are not cards. Hope you will play!

Wende said...

I have never entered a challenge. I tend to immerse myself into a project and do nothing else till it is done!

Jenny V. said...

There's a lot of challenges out there. I like your rule of only 4 combined challenges. I something forget what challenges are out there as well. I hope, I find time to join in some challenge it's been a while been so busy.

Danielle Higginbottom-Brown said...

1) I've never done a challenge, but really want to

2) I have a 2 1/2 yr old and a 10 month old, so time is hard to find

guess I'll have to carve out some me time :)

time is a big factor for me. i have good intentions of playing along but then life just seems to get in the way, lol.

Kathy (krolski) said...

I love to visit blogs for inspiration, but I don't have lots of time to leave comments every time. I love your blog though! I would like to play along, but don't always have the time for that either. Seems like it's hard to keep track of all the contests start and end dates.

Cassie said...

I suppose it's time for the most part. Sometimes it's that I don't have anything to fit the challenge. . .or maybe it's just the Baker's Twine challenge that is sticking out in my mind that I couldn't participate in. Regardless, I believe I've participated a few times, but I do like stopping by :)

Tami Grandi said...

My issue is time (and sometimes the theme isn't my style). I do read it every week and am looking forward to hopefully playing in more once we hit summer (and I am off of teaching)

April said...

For me, it's a mix of things. First of all, I follow your blog to see your work! I love the things you create and feel very inspired by them. :) I always look when the challenges are posted and sometimes even see one that I'd like to try, but then I either firget about it, or have no time that week. It's not that your challenge is too short being a week...it's just that my week is too short, lol!! Also, I'm guilty of the look but don't comment thing...again it comes down to time for me. I love looking at all the pretty things but don't have alot of time for commenting. And since I'm on a couple of DT's where I leave comments each week, that uses up most of my commenting time. ;)

For me it varies. Some times there's a challenge that really "sings" to my heart and I get an idea rather quickly and other times it's more of a "challenge" (no pun intended). It is never about the prize for me, it's about finding time to play. This week I have some time to visit blogs, but probably won't have time to craft. This is one of my favorites!! I think you have a nice mix of themes and products in your challenges to probably get most people at least once month. (:

Got2BCrafting said...

Like most others, it is time. I always have the best of intentions, but I am not really good at time management! LOL! I seem to spend more time looking at blogs and getting inspired than actually DOING something!! Also, there are so many challenges out there and its hard to keep track of which one begins and ends when. I do like weekly challenges, so I hope you don't change that. As far as commenting, I do try to leave comments as much as I can, but it goes right back to time! I try to squeeze in so many blogs that it can be overwhelming! I love your blog and challenges, I do promise to try to play along as much as possible! :)

Khristen said...

Blame it all on my 3year old son :) Sometimes it is a product specific challenge that I don't have the materials for. Otherwise, i'd be playing every week! Your prizes are always great, I wouldn't worry too much about that!

Jodi said...

Lately my greatest obstacle has been time...my first priority is getting my Design Team card made and that seems to be all that I am able to accomplish during the course of a week as my schedule has been jam packed full. I try to incorporate challenges into my DT card, but since I have a set posting date, sometimes it is too late for me to enter the challenge. Once things start to settle down, I should be able to participate a lot more.

Rona said...

For me it's all about never enough time. I go through and look at challenge sites (at work on my lunch hour) take notes, etc. and fully intend to do the challenges I've seen and only get a fraction done. Good intentions but never enough time in the day. I do love looking at the DT inspiration and other people's entries just don't always get everything done. Your blog is adorable too btw!!

Shayne said...

For me, it is totally fear, haha! I don't feel like my skills are really "up to par," so I don't post anything in the challenges.
Also - I am kind of...picky, haha, so I have a hard time finding something that really "gets me going."

Kris said...

I try to do the challenges frequently, but if I don't it is because of not enough time, a couple times it was a prize I wasn't interested in.

Chari Moss said...

Right now for me it has been time. Getting married in 3 weeks so maybe after that calms down I will get to play more. I haven't been playing along very long so I can't say that I have skipped one because of theme or prizes yet. The themes have been pretty interesting to me, just couldn't find the time for some of them. I don't follow too many blogs right now, this is one of my favorites!

Crafty Math Chick said...

Well right now I don't play because I can't - I had spinal fusion surgery and I literally am not supposed to do anything other than rest, walk, and grow bone for the first three months. Then I look forward to playing when I can, I don't always have the time. Your prizes have always been great - I first found your site when Jessica from There She Goes Clear Stamps sponsored a challenge - LOVE TSG! I think it is generous that you offer prizes at all. Thanks for so many chances to win!

Heather Innusa said...

Jeeze Jenny, way to call out us stalkers :D. I love your challenges! I wanted so badly to play along with the woodland critters challenge & just didn't get to it in time. That's one thing I would say, it'd be great if they were open maybe a little longer. I just recently found you, and am now a regular stalker (but can't comment from work - hence the 'stalking'). Tee hee hee. I love your work!!

rcwidow (Linda) said...

As with most others, time is a factor. I enjoy visiting your blog and love your challenges. I have played in the past and plan to in the future. Yours is one of my favs, but I just need to make the time to do it! Thanks for always being so inspiring and brightening my day!

Nicki said...

I love to check out your challenges but lack of time is what stops me playing along more often. I don't have much crafting time so I look for challenges that fit with the cards I need to make, rather than making cards just for the sake of the challenge, if that makes sense.

Apart from not having the specific supplies needed, like the twine, I generally think your themes are great and they're usually quite open if you use a bit of imagination.

I also have to confess to being a 'lurker' - I visit often but rarely leave a comment, sorry! I will try harder from now on.

Nicki, xx

Carisa said...

for me it's time and remembering! LOL even if you changed it to a bi weekly i still wouldn't find the time to enter!!! i think it's great that you limit the number of combined challenges. i'm dt to a couple other challenge blogs and sometimes it's irritating when people are just challenge surfing and not really committed to your challenge per se. i think you have a great site with great challenges!

Kim Ryden said...

I think the theme is the biggest reason why I wouldn't participate. I normally enjoy the layout and color challenges the best. Or when you have to use a certain item for the challenge.

Prizes affect my participation level as well! I would love to get my hands on embellishments and papers!

Jay Gee said...

Time seems to be the theme here Jenny! On average I only make about 2-3 cards per week so it depends on what the theme is - I do love playing your challenges and try to participate as often as possible. I never consider the prize. As far as commenting goes there are so many individual peoples blogs to comment on and I am guilty of forgetting this is your personal blog and not a 'group' blog. I often comment on your DT's personal blogs :)

Amy Kolling said...

Hi Jenny! For me, I love your challenges as they always offer something different. It is hard to play every week but I like that the option is there if I decide to play along. LOVE your prizes....no complaint there!

Melissa said...

I enjoy participating in challenges as long as the time allows. I like the ones that run two weeks, because I have a better chance of being able to create something during that amount of time. It also depends on how specific the challenge is...if it requires a product or supply that I do not have on hand, then most likely I will not participate.

I enjoy all of the challenges. If I miss one it's because I tried to do way to many challenges for that week. I have trimmed down the number of challenges I participate in weekly. It's getting a little hard to keep up with them all. I did leave your challenges on my list of to do's.

Patricia said...

Hi!
I think there are so many challenges on so many blogs that´s impossible to participate at all.
Sometimes the challenges are too specialized and I create cards that I can´t participate with it.
I think time is the common factor for all.

Well, I like to participate on giveaways for two different reasons:

1.- I like the things that people give.
2.- I know someone who wants the thingss of the giveaway and i like to try.

the kind og giveaways I like are the ones in which you can win necklaces, bags... or polishes... It depends.

I like to participate in all giveaways I can, so I do it when I arrive home at night to have time enough to do it.

Kisses!!!

Your challenges are great! I used to not be able to participate because of my work schedule but I recently became unemployed and now I have no excuse!! I think part of it is that I think I cant compare my finished projects to the talents of those I see on the blogs! So many amazing creations that they intimidate me!!

Patrice said...

I feel like such an amateur compared to all the beautiful entries!

Tanya said...

For me it is time lately. Plus all my stuff is in boxes, I don't have a crafting area :( When I finally get a moment to craft, most of my time making a card is spent looking for something. But I am really going to get at it now!! :D

Ezlie said...

weekly challenges are hard and finding out the new theme on Saturday which is usually a craft day I'm not on the computer, so I loose that day and it's hard to craft during the week.
So far I like your themes. Thanks for asking for feedback. =D

Time is definitely an issue for me. I vote for challenges every 2 weeks to give us more time to play.

JLJ Designs said...

Limited time. Also, only being able to enter 3 other challenges. I'm not a super challenge entry person, but I find that I like to enter 6-10 with a card. You might consider having a slightly higher limit. Friday Sketchers is 6 and I enter that one regularly.

Christine said...

It depends on the challenge (if my material fits the challenge) and also on my mood. Sometimes I want to take part, sometimes not.

But anyway, it's not possible to offer a challenge that everyone would like. So don't care too much about that!

(BTW, I love the design of your blog an that is why I like to take a look)

Lisa said...

I use a reader for all of my blogs and I know for me I will see a post for the winner of the challenge and I will think Oh well where is the info for the next challenge and I never see it so outta sight outta mind....Although when I see the winners I always think well I wish I woulda participated. for me it would be nice for a small blurb about the next challenge so I can make sure I play along.

Danielle said...

For me is my personal time, I apparently don't have enough!! Sometimes, it depends if an idea pops in my head for a great card or not. Usually, when I force the card it is usually a huge FAILURE!! So, i would rather not waste my supplies on a crappy card. :-) If you could add a few more hours in my day that would be great!

Chloe said...

I just don't have the time to play along with every challenge I see :-( I love the inspiration here tho ... so pop in often :-)

Heather Rogers said...

Honestly? When I see your posts in my dashboard, I never remember that you do a challenge. i just always think of your blog as your personal blog. I haven't seen you post much of your work just to post so I stopped ocming by much. I never even pay attention to your challenges. I promise I will. I like you and think you are so sweet. You are one of my original blog friends. :)

Hi Jenny! You're right, I read every day, but don't comment very often, and rarely get to do the challenges. Sweetie, YOU are not the problem, I'm the problem! "Life" seems to happen, and my best laid plans go kaput! I promise to try harder to play! Thanks for the wonderful inspiration! Hugs...

It is finding the time to play that keeps me from playing. I am trying to get better organized so I can pick the challenges that best work with the time I do have.

Emma H said...

I had played along with a few challenges, but the 4 challenge max is tough. I usually play along with about 6-10 challenges. (although I know there's lots out there who play with waay more)
Other than that it's just fitting the current challenge into what I'm doing that week, sometimes it just doesn't work!

A Consuming Passion said...

Oh dear a problem for many sites I think! Time is an issue for lots of us with so many challenges out there. I've only just found you and love the stye of cards added by your DT sooooo will try my best!

Tracy said...

I think if you made the response simple to enter. Not a challenge per say.

Erin (Homemade Cards by Erin) said...

Wow, look at all these responses. I do a pretty good job of entering your challenges, so I'm not going to come up with a list of why I don't... I like that your DT does a really good job of commenting on cards, for me that makes a big difference to which sites I keep coming back to. I liked it when you had a random winner... now that you've got your top pick and Top 4 and Honorable mentions I haven't won anything (now that I think about it, I didn't win anything before, but at least I thought I had a chance).

Tracey said...

Jenny I would LOVE LOVE LOVE more time to enter!!! I have wanted to play for the longest time, but with working full-time and other dt work I rarely have time....I was so happy when Hero Arts decided to do monthly challenges with bi weekly prizes!!!! Thanks for asking our opinion :)
P.S. LOVE your new Blog design...wow you are one talented lady....I would LOVE for this to be a prize for the challenge too :)

Hey Jenny, I haven't been participating in challenges (or even blog surfing) much for the last few months because of my DH's health issues. But,I love your challenges and the prizes you give away. Will make a concerted effort to join in more often. Keep up the GOOD work, Sweetie :o)

Eve said...

Most of the time, it's "TIME"... and then, THEME/Challenge. When i see the challenge, If i come up with the idea Right away, i'll make a card. If i have to think a little, again, cuz of "TIME", i just pass that week. I never cared for the prize. When i win & see my name under winners, then I check what the prize is! LOL! :-) Besides, the prize is the cherry on top, i don't care whatever it is! I would be appreciated it!! :-)

abusybee - DoubleClick Connections said...

I would love to enter all of them but I usually have my entry linked to more than 4 other challenges, and I think that would disqualify my project according to your guidelines so I usually won't enter it.
I still love joining in when I don't have as many linked!

Yainea said...

I'm a follower of your blog and I'm newbie at cardmaking, I've got only a few things: some stamps, punches, papers and now a big shot (yay!). Here in Spain it's difficult to find scrapbooking/cardmaking stuff so I order mine online. I found your blog and I instatly become a fan, I love all the ideas. So I'm learning now but I will participate in challenges soon.
Thank you for all your work here and the great inspiration. :)

I have not yet delved into the "sharing online" world. I have been thinking MUCH more about doing so, but I just have a "point and shoot" camera and have been shy about putting so/so cards and less then stellar quality pics online! One of these days I will bite the bullet...

Also time... I know they are every week, and if I miss it, well there is next week! Perhaps doing 2x a month instead? I liked the Caardvark's way of doing challenges - not that I did them all, but I at least got some done!
Love your site - also for the creative inspiration from you and the team!

Jen W. said...

Hi Jenny,
It's definitely a time issue. I check in every week and note the latest challenge but don't always make it into the Craft Cave to do any work. Tragic no? :) I really like the themes of your challenges because they tend to be different from a lot of the others. I hate sketch challenges which is another reason I like Wee Memories so much - pretty much never see a sketch here.
Thanks for all your hard work and inspiration and sorry I don't say it often enough! Have a great week!

Definitely time. There are three challenges I play regularly, so the others are mostly getting a quick visit. If I were retired...

Aparna said...

I have never participated in a challenge anywhere because I feel too intimidated usually. And since I read soo many blogs and see so many projects, i'm always afraid i'm going to unintentionally copy something and get in trouble.

Michele's Scrapy Creations said...

Mostly for me is finding the time to enter challenge. I have every intention to do it but life just get in the way but I do love looking at everyone's creations and often time will add it to my idea book for my layouts. I'm hoping to schedule some to enter your challenge. Prizes don't matter to me --just showing my creations is enough for me

Kelly said...

I tried entering a couple of challenges, but never got any feedback. I don't know if I missed a step in my entry, or what. So, not knowing if I was even actually entered or not, I kind of placed my focus elsewhere. I get e-mails that remind me of several other challenges, so they are in the forefront of my mind.

Regina Mangum said...

I love that you care what we think! I love your challenges, but to be honest sometimes I'm just too pooped out by Saturday and then I think to myself, oh, I'll enter it a few days from then, but by then there are a zillion other challenges! I can't say though, that I would want you to change the day of the week -- you are my favorite Saturday challenge and so what would I do without you?

Julie Tucker-Wolek said...

Time! Time! Time! Time! TIME!!!!

I really prefer a two-week window. It doesn't mean that I always participate when I have two weeks but I have a much greater chance of finishing and posting my projects when I have time to enjoy the process.

Also, I really like to visit participants blogs and leave comments, but I don't have time for that when I'm racing to fit too many projects into a week.

Thanks for asking; it's always nice to offer my two bits.

TO ANYONE WHO FEELS TOO INTIMIDATED TO PLAY: Play anyway! We all learn from each other. It's so much fun to connect through the process!

Oh gosh, I am with the majority, I just don't have enough time to play along every week. The challenges are good ones - I too am ready for spring with this week's challenge. The prizes are wonderful too, but for me it would be even more of an honor to be one of your top picks. I so enjoy seeing your faves each time!

Lisa said...

I am fairly new to stamping and these challenges and I must admit that pure intimidation sometimes puts me off...and sometimes it's just finding the time or maybe the theme just isn't quite right up my alley. I love coming to check out what everybody does and as I get more comfortable and confident maybe I will play more.

Would you be shocked if I said time? :D

Hi Jenny! I love coming to your blog and checking out what you and your DT make, but my problem is I personally forget to enter the challenge or don't have time. ((sorry)) I will try to join in more often! Thanks for caring! :)

Leanne said...

For me time is the major issue. Secondly at times if the challenge requires a stamped image or something I do not have, I cannot participate. I do not get any crafting materials here. I just do with what I have then link up to a challenge if my project is appropriate for it.

Priyanka said...

First of all your blog is my favorite I visit every day to see what is going on.and what the challenge is, I really like wee memories.
1. Yeah time is big factor for me,weekly challenges hard to play.

2.I like ur theme very much, but sometime it is hard to play, because it requires those material which I don't have. But I prefer 99% of your theme, which is not included sketch, I love theme challenges.

3.ur prizes are just fab so no doubt about it.only 1% time it is not attract me,some time ur choice of winner is not attract me to play.

Thank you so much for asking this feed back, u really care for every one.Thank you.

Sometimes I have no time to participate.
I do cards and sometimes what I do it doesn´t fit with your challenges or don´t have the required products, but when I see that your theme is good for my project I link it to your challenge.
Sometimes happened to me that I see a challenge, do a project and then forget where the challenge was posted :(
I'll try to come often :)

Time is the main factor to me as I am working. Although your challenge falls on Saturday but I will only view it on the next day due to different time zone (I am located in Malaysia). Thus, I have limited time to play since the only free time I have is on weekend. Not to mention that I have limited supplies which I cannot follow your theme sometime. Thus, I enjoy viewing other people entries rather than entering.

Ujjwal said...

I love your challenges and the good work you and the DT does here and try to squeeze in the time to play along almost every week. A few times that I don't play, its because one of the following reasons

- challenge theme, it doesn't excite me or it is too specialized and I don't have the required supplies

- challenge prize, for examples Digital Images aren't my cup of tea because I don't have a printer.

Ujjwal said...

and yeah..I forget to mention...sometimes I am very intimidated by the DT work and your choice of winners. I feel I will never be able to make the cut :D

I've got to say, like others before me - it's the TIME that keeps me from participating. Tsk Tsk Tsk, time just seems to get shorter when you have things to do.

Time for me as well. And I think I need to do a better job following the blog. It helps to see things on Facebook, as I don't really do my blog reader the way I should.

Well... the answer is time! Since january when I had to move I didn't find time to make cards! It's hard to work 9 hours a day and after that to come home and find time to scrap or to make cards! But I hope I will improve this!

For me, time is of the essence..there are so many challenges..and I do not like combining challenges, I usually pick the challenges that are most interesting yet don't demand too many tools or particular stamps! Having a limited supply list, I feel easy but interesting challenges and with a two week time limit should help..

Time is definitely a factor for me, but also, and I know this is really stupid, but I often feel discouraged when I don't make the top three or whatever... dumb huh? So I think that's the main reason why I stopped participating in challenge blogs and only put my card in if what I making happens to fit the challenge.

All that being said though, I think the challenges you guys put on are great and are more often than not ones that I want to participate in but time gets in the way...

:)

Jaclyn Miller said...

Obviously, time is a huge factor and when that is the case, people are having to choose which challenges to participate in. That tells me that maybe the inspiration itself could be tweaked a bit. I particularly like that you currently have a more vague challenge and leave it open to a lot of interpretation, but there have definitely been weeks where I just wasn't interested or didn't have stamps that applied (for instance, the operation write home one, I don't have any military style stamps, not that I couldn't have come up with something, it just got pushed down my list because I couldn't think of anything to do right off the top of my head). But, like I said, I like that there is room for everyone's to be different. I personally never even pay attention to the prizes because I like to play for fun and the prize doesn't matter to me. Hope you find a happy medium! I appreciate you putting the time and effort into what is already a great challenge site!

This is such a great question and I am so glad that you took the time to ask.

For me it's TIME and THEME: My company has since declared bankruptcy and I was laid off. Now, I am home with the 3 children - all school aged, but now I am doing all the picking-up and dropping off, so trying to carve out time is hard. In terms of theme, I have a limited amout of stamps, and embellishments so when you ask for something specific like Baker's Twine, I do not have any, therefore I am unable to play. I live in NYC and the nearest craft store to me is Michaels - they are limited in what they sell via the crafting trend, so I can't even purchase items there to play along sometime. Thanks again for asking!

I'm a casual challenge participant and rarely enter a challenge because of the prize being offered it's usually the theme that captured me. My main issue is that time slips by and before I know it a challenge is over and a new one is in it's place. There are so many challenges out there that it boggles the mind and I really have to be drawn in by the theme to be inspired to jump in and do it right away. If a challenge is too much of a challenge, I won't do it.

I visit the blog very often, because I simply love the inspiration I can find here, the DT creations and the cards submitted for the challenges... Many times I find them so good that could be a bit intimidating, but to be sincere that never stopped me from participating to a challenge. :S

So the main reason I am not always participating is the lack of time... Especially if for some reason I have another project to make as well.

It is definitely time for me. I always start with great intentions but real life gets in the way. Will have to start making more of an effort.

I only ecently discovered Wee Memories and I think the challenges are great! I think I've participated in each one since I found the blog. For me, it would be time constraints that kept me from the challenge -- too many things to do in the time allowed. One week is a bit short but two weeks seems too long. What about 10 days? Alternate the challeges between Saturdays and Weds. and have 10 days for each one.

I like the themes and prizes so that is not the problem. I always check in to see what the weekly challnege is (except last week because I had no idea there was a Woodland Creatures theme!). My problem now is time. I used to play when the baby was a newborn and slept all day. Well, now he is 1! And moving all over the place. I can't set him down without having to chase him. I'm only able to write this now because big brother is home on Spring Break and supervising him! Whenever I do make it in to check on the theme, it then takes me some time to figure out what I want to do. Then I need to find some (uninterrupted)time to sit down and get it done. And usually when I get it all figured out (the idea) and executed (doesn't usually happen), photographed to submit, then it's too late to make the deadline. But that's just me and my crazy life. I think your challenges and prizes are good!

I always forget. Seriously. I write down my theme/challenge, I get an idea.. and then forget. Until I see the winner and I"m all, "dammit!!!" But I'm going to try harder because I want to play along, it gives me an excuse to continue buying copious amount of supplies, and it's fun. AND, if I'm being honest, (and I feel I can be) I want to win prizes. I don't win good stuff, I'm the person who wins crappy giveaways so that sucks.

I'm a big procrastinator! LOL!
When I've carved out a crafty moment in my week, I sit down and realise the challenge either ends in 5 minutes or I missed the deadline by an hour. I just need to be a little more organised before can play along...

a volte non partecipo perchè bisogna essere legati ad un progetto troppo rigido mentre io mi devo sentire libera di creare ;-) ciao rosa.kreattiva

Jenny for me, like most have said here it is time and life issues. But to be honest it is the fact that there are so many challenges out there trying to catch my attention. I try to make cards that may fit into some other top challenges like this one, and combine with another. It just makes it easier that way. Sometimes it depends on the prize that is up for grabs as well, and to be honest sometimes, it just has to do with the fact that I never truly know what challenge sites are looking for. I feel that what I create never really adds up to other submissions here and then feel I shouldn't submit. I know of times when I have made things that others say are wonderful and when I submit others will win who may have a card that is less extravgant or maybe more plain and then I think that I have wasted my time. Sorry Jenny I don't mean to sound negative sweetie, but I just don't know what really is expected anymore. I guess it is hard to know for sure because there are so many different styles and interperations. So I guess sometimes it can be hard for folks to submit and just as hard for design teams to pick winners. I do have to say a huge "Thank You" for caring so much to be a part of this paper crafting world and to provide us with inspiration week after week. I am so touched that you even care to ask us all what Wee Memories can do to make things better. Some sites wouldn't ask and that is why folks love this place and you so much. Big Hugs.

Like everyone else, time is an issue. There are so many blogs I like to visit plus there are so many challenges out there it's hard to decide which challenge I will do once I do find the time. I think lengthening the challenge timeline would help with this.

It's not the time factor for me but more the challenge itself doesn't fit with what I am working on. Another reason would be the prize is unappealing to me. I don't need or want more digital images. I'm more interested in product. It's always so fun to receive something that you wouldn't normally buy yourself. And then also I feel there is no chance my style or lo's are good enough to win. It would be kind of cool if there was a way to "seperate" the more advanced papercrafters, with all the new latest and greatest products with projects full of fancy stuff from projects from those that may not be able to afford a dollar sheet of paper and use a 4x4 piece of it, or those of us that are using our supplies and/or may have a simpler approach to SB-ing or card making. Thus making two groups and therefore two winners might be a totally different twist to challenges that may bring in more people. This is just my two cents and I thank you for listening to them. I have other ideas if you want to hear them. send me an email from the one I just sent you to buy things from your garage sale.
Peace
Cindy

For me, I have good intensions to do challenges but then life takes over and a week is not enough time for me. I am trying to make a promise to myself and have one to two nights a week after 7pm for me time or one full weekend afternoon. Hopefully I will start this promise to myself this Saturday and get busy creating more. I follow your blog and have you on my sidebar... just have to "DO IT" kwim.!?.

For me it is time :o(

I love your site and all the challenges. I have great intentions and am in awe of the crafters that manage to make something every day - pleeeeaaase tell me your secret

Your blog and challenges are great, I just over extend myself, and try to visit too many blogs and stuff, and with flickr and my local involvements, I just can't find enough time. Also my health is not good, so some days and weeks i can barely keep up with keeping my household run, never mind making cards!!
Then some times it will be the theme, I can't come up with an idea, or when i see the Wonderful things others are submitting I feel why bother with what I did, I don't feel I can compete!!
And I too have stopped entering anything with Digi prizes, as I just don't use them much.
But will try and enter in a few more of your challenges, If I can remember, I have to find a system to keep track of what I want to enter.
Good luck Jenny
Hugs
Donna

More often than not, I'm having problem with the time. 24 hrs in a day is never quite enough for us crafters, is it? ;) Occassionaly it's because the theme does not apply to me, because its seasonal e.g. St Patrick's, which we don't celebrate here in Malaysia.

Jenny, I absolutely love your challenges and the inspiration by you and the DT. I really like your style. For me its:
- mostly the time as with kids its quite difficult to get ME time.
- Special requirements like Twine ( which I didnt have then)
- Its not about the prize, of coarse it feels good to get gifts but the gift certificate doesnt help cos the International shipping gets quite high....Digi's are better in that case...lol.
- Anyhow, I would continue to play as its fun and also to get recognition due to Merit makes me feel good and is a constant motivation.

Thanks for taking the time out to hear our views.

I have only recently found your challenges and immediately became a follower. I really like your format! The prizes are wonderful, the DT samples are inspiring, and the themes are unique and fun. However, I'm finding that in recent weeks I've not been playing along as much for a couple of reasons. First, that 4 challenge max is tough for me. I enjoy combining challenges and with very limited time during the week, combining challenges is the only way I can play in many of my favorite challenges. I'm also noticing that only a very particular type of card tends to be chosen for the top cards in this challenge. If your style doesn't fit exactly, then you don't have much chance of winning. So if I can only combine 4 challenges and it feels like I don't have much of a chance to win anyway, it isn't hard to guess how I'll spend my limited amount of time for playing in challenges.

I love your challenges and try to play along as often as possible. my problem is the day of the week I work weekends so getting a card in on a friday night is difficult for me. Sometimes the challenges are a little specialized for me. Thanks so much for all you do!

Hi, Jenny!

I'm your follower on Google Reader.

Well... I'm a scrapbook entusiast and rarely play on challenges. But my scraproom is almost ready and I'm going to be here weekly or so. Maybe a two weeks challenge will be good.

xoxo

being over on the feline playful blog will certainly increase traffic to your blog!

It's definitely a time thing for me, too. I make at most 2-3 cards a week. That's all I have time for. I try to play along (yours is my favorite challenge) but sometimes I just don't get it made before the deadline is up.
